Independence Day In Turkey

As you all know I’m from Turkey. And we have a precious day like every country has. And we call it ‘Cumhuriyet Bayrami’. We celebrate this day on 29 October. We visit our first president tombstone it called ANITKABIR. And a lot of Jet Planes flying around on Anitkabir and they’re drawing our Turkish Flag to the sky. We sing our anthem and sing different songs about our country. We eat some our culture’s foods and some deserts. In that day we feel our country love in our blood. It’s so precious day to us. You must come to Turkey and feel like how we feel before you die.

Turkey’s Most Beautiful Cities

Turkey is the most beautiful country for vacation. Turkey has four seasons in a year. Today we’ll talk about spending some time in Antalya in Summer. And also, we’ll talk about spending some time in Istanbul in winter because these cities are the most beautiful cities to me. And we’ll compare them.

Just imagine you’ve arrived at Istanbul in the middle of winter. This vacation will be perfect because you can do whatever you want in Istanbul. If you want to go to a concert, you can go very easily because Istanbul is like the capital of concerts. And also, you can taste a lot of different tastes. Istanbul has a lot of different country’s cultures. Soccer matches and leagues are very popular things in the winter. You can get a ticket and go to a game. It will be very exciting and joyful. Also, you can have a cruise to Bosphorus. Bosphorus is like a symbol of Istanbul. If you’re interested in historical places, you can find a lot of historical places in Istanbul like Sultan Ahmed, Blue Mosque. Also, you can use the subway to go wherever you want. Istanbul has very developed subway systems.

But if you like the summer for vacations I’m recommending you go to Antalya because Istanbul’s weather in summer is terrible. I mean, the sun always suffocates you. Sometimes you can’t even breathe because of heat. Antalya’s summer is brilliant. You can go to a lot of different beaches and you can have so much fun at beach parties. Antalya has the most beautiful hotels in Turkey. You can take a room and you can rest a lot at the spa, massage rooms or saunas. If you want to look around the city, you have to rent a car because Antalya hasn’t got any subway systems, unlike Istanbul because Antalya isn’t as developed city as Istanbul. Antalya is smaller than Istanbul. But Antalya has got more patriotic population than Istanbul. You can compare Istanbul and Antalya to NYC and Los Angeles. They have similarities of course. Antalya hasn’t got a lot of historical places, unlike Istanbul. Antalya also has own cultural foods.

Turkey has a lot of beautiful cities but I can’t count and tell of them. These are my suggestions for you. I hope to see you at there.

Independence Day 4th Of July

When we were in our American Experiences class, Rita came to class with Statue Of Liberty costume and then she said: Alright guys, let’s go kitchen. I’ve got something to tell you about 4th Of July. After that, we got into kitchen and we ate some peanut butter with jam. It was great and she began to talk about the Independence day. I’ve learned a lot of things from her and I’m still learning. As a result I just want to tell we have very instructive and funny classes in ELS Manhattan.

NYC TRIPS

Hi again! In this post we’ll talk about our school field trip. When I came here about 2 months ago in 2019 we didn’t trip with school. But now ELS Manhattan made some innovations for 2020 and a lot things have changed, we’ve began to make some field trips. So, I would like to mention what I saw and heard to you.

First of all we’ve been in Battery Park Shore to have a look to Statue Of Liberty and we saw it perfectly, the weather was very clear and Dear Mrs. Maria and Mrs. Rita told something about Statue Of Liberty’s history. It was unique, we all have learned about relationship between USA and France.

And then we went to Federal Hall and we all have engrained some informations to our brains about what was this Hall doing in the past years.

Actually we’ve learned a lot of things from that trip but I can’t explain whole things. Stay Tuned for another posts. Shalom.

ABOUT MYSELF

Hi! How is everybody? As you all know I’m Derek Colak. I’m from Turkey and I’m 18 years old. I’ve arrived to ELS Manhattan 2 months ago. Actually I settled in a university in Turkey but I was in English preparatory class in Ozyegin University so I left from there and came here. I’m so thankful for who let me come here. And then I’ve decided to continue my education life in US. I want to study International Business in a university except in NYC. I really don’t like NYC because I was living in Istanbul/Turkey and there was so crowded like here. If anyone who wants to live in real USA please don’t come to NYC. I know some authorities will get mad at me cause of these sentences but this is %100 CORRECT. Despite everything I really love my teachers and classmates. This is just a reason why I still stand to live here. In my next Posts I’ll tell my (cliche) stories about NYC. Stay Tuned.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
